Member Services

As with any professional organisation, our first responsibility is to serve our members, although representing the interests of Rhône Valley négociants within the region’s wine industry is an equally important task and comes a very close second. 


Principal Services for Members:

-  Keeping up to date with wine industry regulations at home and abroad;

Answering questions on every aspect of working as a négociant;

Ensuring labels meet statutory regulations;

Advising on fraud and customs issues;

Authorising use of the iconic Châteauneuf du Pape embossed négoce bottle;

- Overseeing press permits to Châteauneuf du Pape tastings (€150 a year);

- Appearing on the Federation of Châteauneuf du Pape Producers’ website (and providing help with entering technical data sheets to distribute to the press);

Providing access to a comprehensive website covering all European wine industry regulations and country-specific export information (€230 a year);

- Contributing towards credit insurance costs to a maximum of 90% of UMVR membership fee;

- Contributing towards implementation of brand protection measures;

- Contributing towards residue analysis;

Providing personalised information about events organised by the professional associations, and giving an attendance summary at the end of each year;

Ensuring members feature on the UMVR website.
